Prime Minister Modi praised late P.M Narasimha Rao on his birth day for his great contribution for initiating the economic reforms and leading the country out of an economic crisis in 1991 and recalling his participation in protest against the Hyderabad Nizam’s ban on Vande Mataram. Further the government also announced to issue a commemoration stamp to honour his contribution which hither to was denied to him by the Congress led government. Now BJP is restoring him his rightful place and honour. In fact, he deserves a Bharat Ratna also.
In a Facebook post, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "My tribute to former Congress President and Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao Ji on his birth anniversary."
The Congress official handle said in a tweet: "We honour P.V. Narasimha Rao, a visionary leader who oversaw major economic transformations of the Indian economy. His contributions to the nation shall never be forgotten."
"Credited to be reform leader in the country and has been remembered to put India in world economic map," the party said.
But considering the way the former Prime Minister late Narasimha Rao was treated by the Indian National Congress party particularly the Gandhi Family after his death and the tribute they are paying now which they never ever made to the late P. M Narasimha Rao before, I can recall what Mahatma Gandhi said during his fag end of life, “Corruption and hypocrisy ought not to be inevitable products of democracy, as they are undoubtedly to day”. The year was 1947. The ruling party was congress. Was it a prophecy Mahatma made?
